Today My Son Taught Me

There are times in my life, more often than not, when the Lord sends me little reminders;). A mother's list of things to do is endless it seems, and before I know it the really important stuff is set aside. I always get back to it, eventually:/. And that's where these little reminders come into play...I was just marching around the corner to hollar at Dylan to clean up his room and get to bed, and this is what I see; my sweet 7 year old reading the Book of Mormon and saying his prayers.
I heard him pray for his little sister to have a good day at school tomorrow and to be protected from the bully's. He prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true or not. Then he told his Father in Heaven he liked the prophet Mormon the best cuz that's who the Book of Mormon is named after. And the last thing he said was,
"I love my family." (And of course, I stood there and cried;)
I don't know that I can take any credit for this experience. I don't know if Dylan has ever seen me studying my scriptures and praying. But I do know that I've been humbled and truly taught by my son.
